Tucked
along a tranquil section of Morro Bay, the
Baywood Inn Bed & Breakfast is a peaceful
getaway where visitors can hole up for a
romantic weekend or enjoy the area’s
rugged outdoor activities.
The inn has the charm of a B&B, but
also offers guests the privacy of a larger
hotel.
Each of the 15 rooms or suites has a unique
theme. The New Mexican-inspired Santa Fe
suite, has a tile fireplace, vaulted ceilings,
Southwest furnishings and a stunning bay
view.
The contemporary Manhattan suite features
a split-level design and high-tech lighting.
With its tree limb furniture and river rock
fireplace, the rustic Appalachian suite
evokes a mountain cabin.
The Baywood Inn pampers its guests. Every
morning, a gourmet breakfast is served in
the main dining room or delivered to the
rooms. In the evening, guests can indulge
in a complimentary wine and cheese tasting.
Fresh-baked cookies are delivered to the
rooms each night. Room service is available
from the adjacent Ristorante Mare Blu. Meanwhile,
each room is stocked with complimentary
snacks and drinks – a nice touch since
most hotels charge for such goodies.
The inn’s common area has Internet
access and is stocked with books, games
and movies guests can enjoy in their rooms.
The inn also offers a nightly room tour
for guests willing to let others peek at
their accommodations.
The immediate area, known as Baywood Park,
is small and sleepy, with a sprinkling of
restaurants, a few shops and gorgeous bay
scenery. Morro Bay, a short drive away,
offers visitors activities including kayaking,
canoeing, fishing, sailing and bird watching.
There’s the brooding beauty of Morro
Rock, the Morro Bay Bird Sanctuary or the
lavish elegance of the nearby Hearst Castle.
Rooms at the inn range from $90 to $200
a night. It also has two homes that can
be rented for about $300 a night. The inn,
which is about two hours north of Santa
Barbara, will introduce three new bay-view
rooms in November.

Esta posada tiene el encanto de un hotel
tipo Bed and Breakfast y al mismo tiempo
ofrece a los visitantes la privacía
de un gran hotel.
Cada una de las quince habitaciones tiene
un tema único; la suite Santa Fe,
inspirada en un estilo “nuevo mexicano”,
tiene una chimenea, techos de bóveda,
muebles del suroeste y una sorprendente
vista de la bahía; la moderna suite
Maniatan presenta un diseño con desnivel
en los pisos y un diseño de iluminación
de alta tecnología; con muebles de
madera y una chimenea hecha con piedras
de río, la suite Apalache nos recuerda
a una cabaña en la montaña.
El hotel Baywood Inn consiente a sus huéspedes.
Cada mañana un desayuno tipo gourmet
se sirve en el comedor principal o bien
directamente en las habitaciones, por la
tarde los huéspedes pueden darse
gusto con vino y quesos selectos y por la
noche se llevan a cada habitación
galletas recién horneadas.
Adicionalmente, el “Ristorante Mare
Blu”, contiguo al hotel, ofrece también
servicio directo a las habitaciones. Cada
habitación incluye una selecta dotación
de bocadillos y bebidas, toque especial,
ya que la mayoría de los hoteles
cobran por este servicio.
El área común del hotel tiene
computadoras con acceso a Internet y posee
una colección de libros, juegos y
películas disponibles para el uso
de los huéspedes en su propia habitación.
El hotel también ofrece un tour nocturno
por las habitaciones para aquellos que deseen
compartir el encanto de sus cuartos.
La zona inmediata, conocida como Baywood
Park es pequeña y tranquila, con
algunos restaurantes, tiendas y una hermosa
bahía. Morro Bay, un poco más
retirada, ofrece a los visitantes actividades
como kayaking, canotaje, pesca, veleo y
observación de pájaros. También,
en Morro Rock está el bello santuario
de pájaros “Morro Bay Bird Sanctuary”
y en los alrededores se encuentra el elegante
Hearst Castle.
Las habitaciones tienen un costo de $90
a $200 por noche, además hay también
dos casas que pueden ser rentadas por aproximadamente
$300 por noche. El hotel, a sólo
dos horas de Santa Barbara, inaugurará
en noviembre tres nuevas habitaciones con
vista a la bahía.
