Gigli
Starring Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, “Gigli” tells the story of a small-time thug named Gigli (Affleck) in Los Angeles. He is sent to kidnap a federal prosecutor’s mentally challenged brother, a ploy to keep Gigli’s boss from going to prison. But when he bungles the assignment, his superiors call in Ricki (Lopez), a smart and sexy partner in crime who is supposed to straighten out Gigli’s slip-up.
At first, he’s offended, but then his growing romantic attraction to Ricki overpowers his pride. Soon, Gigli is falling in love with her, but Ricki happens to be a lesbian and is obviously not interested. At the same time, Gigli actually starts to care about what happens to Brian, his kidnap victim.
Watch for onscreen sparks between Lopez and Affleck; they apparently met and fell in love while making this movie. Billed as a romantic gangster comedy and directed by Martin Brest (“Scent of a Woman”), “Gigli” also stars Lainie Kazan, Justin Bartha, Christopher Walken and Missy Crider. It opens in theaters July 30.

Protagonizada por Jennifer López y Ben Affleck, “Gigli” cuenta la historia de un insignificante matón llamado Gigli (Affleck) en Los Ángeles. Gigli es enviado a secuestrar al hermano, mentalmente discapacitado, de un juez federal, como treta para evitar que el jefe de Gigli vaya a prisión. Sin embargo, al echar a perder la misión, sus superiores llaman a Ricki (López), una sensual y vivaz criminal, para que enderece el mal trabajo de Gigli.
Al principio él se siente ofendido, pero rápidamente crece una romántica atracción hacia Ricki que sobrepasa su orgullo. Pronto Gigli se enamora de Ricki, sin embargo ella es lesbiana y obviamente no está interesada. Al mismo tiempo, Gilgi se empieza a preocupar por Brian, su víctima de secuestro.
Esté al tanto de las chispas entre López y Affleck, ya que aparentemente ellos se conocieron y enamoraron durante la realización de esta película. Clasificada como comedia romántica “gángster” y dirigida por Martín Brest (“Scent of a Woman”), “Gilgi” también presenta a Lainie Kazan, Justin Bartha, Christopher Walken y Missy Crider.
Se estrenará en teatros el 30 de julio.
